 Antiwar Voices

To find strong Antiwar voices one must venture to obscene websites. Photo by MR Online

Before this assignment, I had never paid much attention to antiwar voices before. As a student, and as an American, it was a narrative I had not been introduced to previously. After reading a few articles and opinions of the writers of ANTIWAR.com and American Conservative, it became a little more clear why these voices were harder to come into contact with.

One conclusion I have drawn as to why the Antiwar narrative may be kept out of mainstream media is because of the more "pressing issues".  Many peopled are against war, and while Antiwar voices are filled with more strong opinions and passion - many people may overlook sharing their antiwar messages in mainstream media in favor of going for more polarizing and in-the-minute news.

I also think the reason we have to go and search out these voices on these lesser-known websites because humans tend to be creatures of habit. If someone has been referring to the same news source for years it may be hard for them to branch out and look to other sites that haven't become a part of their normal routine. These mainstream media sources as well will stick to publishing the narratives and stories their readers have been enjoying in hopes they will come back and read more.

Post 8 - Innovation Of Diffusion - AirPods

Innovation Of Diffusion - AirPods What exactly are AirPods? AirPods are Apple's wireless earbuds that have skyrocketed in popularity since their release in 2016. These earbuds became the most popular accessory sold by Apple two years after their release, and since the initial release of the AirPods Apple has come out with a  second-generation Airpods  and  Airpod Pros .  I believe the reason Airpods caught on quickly was because of how innovative and unique it was. Unlike other Bluetooth headphones at the time, Apple's AirPods were sleek and modern and came with many advancements Apple users weren't used to.  AirPods Through the Lens of Innovation Diffusion Innovators : Apple and its investors were the innovators of the AirPods. They were the ones who thought up, financed, produced, and pioneered the use and creation of the device. Early Adopters:  Airpods were announced at an Apple Special Event alongside the iPhone 7 and the Apple watch series 2 on ...

Post 6: The Typewriter

The History Of The Type Writer "There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed" - Ernest Hemmingway A Brief Timeline   The typewriter has evolved greatly since its humble beginnings, and while now in modern times is seen more as "antique" or "dated" used to be the peak of technology. The first known patent for the typer writer can be traced back to 1714 with Henry Mills' "Machine for Transcribing Letters". There is very little known about this machine, mostly because it never reached large-scale production, so because of these many attributes Christopher Latham Sholes' typewriter as the "first typewriter". Sholes developed his first typewriter in 1867, which was only able to type in capital letters, and a few years and tweaks later the first commercial typewriter would be manufactured by the Remington company and would have the capability to type in upper and lowercase. The addition of more keys h...

Post 2: The Supreme Court

The Supreme Court The Courtroom of the Supreme Court In 1789, Article III of the constitution did not only grant congress the power to create federal courts but also established what would become the highest federal court in the country and the head of the judicial branch of the government, the Supreme court. President George Washington signed the Judiciary Act of 1789 which specified that six justices would serve on the court and that they would continue to serve until they either retired or died. These first six justices would be John Jay, James Wilson, John Rutledge, William Cushing, John Blair Jr, and Robert Hanson Harrison.  John Jay became the first chief justice, which is the highest judicial officer in the nation. There is a specific set of duties pertaining to the chief justice position including creating the agenda for the Supreme Court justices' meetings, chose who will write the court's opinion when the chief justice is apart of the majority opinion and presides ove...
